Changing eye color

Today's post is a pretty quick one that can come in handy in several ways. It can create some pretty cool effects like superimposing a picture into someone's eye (I'll show that one on Friday). Changing eye color can come in handy to adjust for lighting or just for fun.

Color changed:

So here's the pretty quick and easy process:
Step 1: Open your image you want to adjust. I'm using a stock image that my computer teacher sent me. Sorry I don't have the link for it.

Step 2: Open a new layer. I repeat this every tutorial and I can't stress this enough. Don't work on the original layer no matter what! Make sure the layer is transparent.

Step 3: Using the Ellipse selector tool make a circular selection around the iris.

Step 4: Choose the eye color that you are wanting to change to using the foreground and background color selector (the top color filled square.)

Step 5: Use the bucket tool or drag the colored square over to your selection and fill it in.

Step 6: Go to the select menu and select none (Shift+CTRL+A)

Step 7: Now go to the Filters menu, blur, and gausian blur.

Step 8: Now go to mode (over the layers menu) and go down to Hue.

And you are done! The finished product should look something like this:
